Hundreds of activists from around the country convened for an online week of inspiration and strategy to win Medicare for All! The 2022 M4A conference featured more than 20 plenary panels, 40 live workshops, and 80 speakers.
The COVID-19 pandemic has shown many people the role of public health in their daily lives, and how important public health infrastructure is for the health and safety people in the U.S. and around the globe. And yet the privatization of health care adversely impacts public health, especially in the face of infectious disease outbreaks and full-on pandemics. This session will explore the links between biomedical research, public health and health care systems and by using COVID-19, HIV, and other infectious diseases, make the case for Medicare 4 All as central to a robust and effective public health system.
